Cancer Support WA is a not-for-profit organisation run by administrative and volunteer staff to provide continuous, high quality services, support and programs for people with cancer in Western Australia.
Since 1984, Cancer Support WA has helped and supported many thousands of people with cancer achieve wellbeing. We encourage an integrative approach to cancer recovery and prevention, and support people through every stage of the cancer journey – from diagnosis to recovery.
Our support services, all offered free to the general public at Cancer Support WA’s expense, include: support groups; counselling; 24 hour phone service; informational website; care packs; resource centre; and a referral network. We publish the inspiring Wellness News magazine and resources such as the Meeting the Challenge handbook for people diagnosed with cancer, as well as providing the current Moss Reports. We distribute Cancer Care Packs to people newly diagnosed.
Our wellness programs include: cancer wellness courses and seminars; complementary therapies; and nutrition, meditation and yoga courses from our heritage building in Cottesloe. We also provide outreach programs in Armadale, Mandurah and regional WA.
Cancer Support WA has recently partnered with Breast Cancer Care WA, melanomaWA and the Brady Cancer Support Foundation to redevelop Wanslea, our heritage-listed home. In association with the National Trust, we will transform Wanslea House into the first holistic, integrative Cancer Wellness Centre in Western Australia.
None of these things is free – or even cheap! We rely on the generous support of the community, businesses and other organisations to bring continual, high quality, accessible services to people with cancer. Please donate.
